Rebecca Russcher keeps a busy singing schedule throughout West Michigan. She has performed numerous times at Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts, and sung the role of La Badessa in Puccini’s “Suor Angelica” with the West Michigan Opera Project (WMOP) over several seasons of performances in various communities. Rebecca has sung on a variety of concerts and recitals; she has also sung principal roles of Gilbert and Sullivan works with the West Michigan Savoyards. This December will mark her 12th season as alto soloist in Handel’s “Messiah” with the Zeeland Civic Chorus, and will also perform the work with the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra in St. Joseph. Rebecca is the alto component of the duo Two Baroque Girls, along with soprano Viviana Klooster, delving into lesser-known works of early music and beyond. In addition, the mezzo enjoys teaching the next generation of singers at the Dance Asylum in Saugatuck.
